In today's world of active climate change management and the unequal distribution of income that we have been witnessing for years, waste management requires more attention than ever.
The following reasons make the above statement extremely relevant-
1) People don’t realise they create so much waste everyday.
2) It is not obvious for many of us to clearly understand the direct and immediate impact on environment, and on us, of the waste that we create.
3) The waste originator (e.g. restaurant) and the waste creator (e.g. customer), being two different entities, avoid taking the responsibility of managing waste.
4) Not all types of waste damage environment, however, if they occur less, more is available for everyone.
5) If we could get closer to zero waste by recycling or upcycling it, we generate a lot of value for everyone on the planet.
